Party Flyers

If you think Phase 2’s contribution to the world is restricted to the arrow..think again. This site has a ton of old school hip-hop party flyers.

They’ve been doing wildstyle for centuries

I don’t read French or Arabic, but this site is dope.

Also, check out this guy’s stuff.

It’s really all about the comments

Gawker has officially dissed Banksy, but it’s really all about the comments.

Cool Disco Dan

Cool Disco Dan, originally uploaded by victorybros.

I only took one photo of graffiti this weekend, while visiting DC, and this was it. I had warned the whole family to be on the lookout for Cool Disco Dan tags.

We ended up heading out of the city in the wrong direction, so I had to pull off the freeway. As I was going to make a u-turn, I see this out of the corner of my eye and make a quick pull off of the road. It’s funny, I was as happy to see this as many of the “sites” in the city.

It looks like it was covered up for a long while.

Here’s an article on Cool Disco Dan in the Washington Post from 1991.

Interesting article on Isreali graffiti

What do Israel’s leftwingers and rightwingers, religious zealots and punk rockers, sports fans and cynics have in common?
All of them apparently feel quite comfortable strolling up to a wall in a public place with a can of spray paint and leaving behind their sometimes quite elaborate messages.
